May holiday with children: how to keep them entertained every moment

The May holiday is the perfect time to really be together with your kids. No school and no rushed mornings, but the space to spend time together in peace.

Filling two weeks with fun activities is a great chance to discover new things together and make memories. And the best part is, it doesn’t have to be complicated and can often just be done comfortably at home.

With a few simple ideas, you can make every day a nice mix of calm, fun, and beautiful moments together. Just comfortably at home.

Start the day together

Sometimes it’s actually nice if the day isn’t fully scheduled. A calm start can already make a big difference. Children often like to start the day at their own pace.

From such a relaxed start, the best plans naturally arise. You don’t have to go big; it’s the small, simple moments that stick with you the most.

Head to the kitchen together

During the holidays, it’s extra fun to do something where you’re really together with your child. The kitchen is the perfect place for that. Baking together is cozy, but also a moment of real attention. Cupcakes are always a hit.

Ingredients for basic cupcake recipe:

  • 150 grams of self-raising flour

  • 150 grams of sugar

  • 150 grams of butter

  • 3 eggs

  • 2 tablespoons of milk

  • a pinch of salt

Let your child help with preparing the cupcakes and, of course, tasting them too. With our learning tower Fay you’re happily at the same level and really make it a moment together while baking the tastiest cupcakes.

A creative afternoon

Being creative is often a lot of fun and you don’t need much for it. Grab some paper, paint, stickers, or clay and let your child go wild. Did you know you can also use our climbing arch Ben as a little table? Perfect for a creative afternoon!

Children often have the most imaginative ideas when they have the space to explore on their own. It’s not about the end result but the joy they experience while creating.

Play a game together

Playing a game together may seem small, but it’s precisely those moments that create attention and real connection. Sitting together, laughing, and being engaged without distractions.

For example, play the fishing game Emma. While you play together, your child practices concentration and fine motor skills in a playful way, and above all, you have lots of fun together.

A little retreat

Sometimes children want to retreat into their own little world. With play tent Alice or play tent Omar you can quickly create a cozy corner entirely for your child(ren).

A nice place to play, read books, or just unwind for a moment.

After a day full of playing, discovering, and experiencing, children often need a moment of rest. Doing nothing for a bit, just relaxing. In bean bag Bruno or children's armchair Ella they can flop down comfortably, read a book, or savor the day a little longer. This way, you end the day together in a nice and relaxed way.

The May holiday isn't about full days or perfect planning but about being together. The real value lies in the small moments like baking, playing, relaxing, or just doing nothing together.

By keeping it simple and matching your child's rhythm, you turn these weeks into a pleasant and relaxing time full of memories that will last.
